NFA 8657 / MODULAR SOLAR STORAGE

Solar power. Beyond sundown.

For solar setups with surplus by day and demand after dark. NFA 8657 brings four MPPT inputs and a master-and-expansion storage system into your home-energy plan.

01 / THE EVERYDAY SHIFT

Sun at noon. Life after five.

A quiet house and a bright afternoon don’t always line up. With the right storage setup, some of that daytime surplus can serve the hours when you’re actually home.

02 / FOLLOW THE ENERGY

Collect by day. Use it later.

Switch between daylight and evening to see the principle. Real energy flows depend on your system, demand and controls.

03 / KNOW THE HARDWARE

Two roles. One modular system.

The manufacturer’s render shows a master and an expansion battery. Planning starts by knowing what each part does—not adding up battery numbers.

01 Master unit
The solar and system connections are on the master. Identify the exact master variant as part of the configuration.
02 Expansion battery
Additional storage within a compatible configuration. An expansion battery does not replace the master.

04 / THE SOLAR SIDE

Four separate paths for solar input.

Four MPPT inputs are part of the documented 8657 architecture. They give the solar arrangement separate input paths; the permitted panel connections depend on the electrical limits.

05 / EXPANSION BATTERIES

Compare the module. Not just the number.

Both documented expansion batteries use LiFePO₄ and share the same external dimensions. Their listed energy differs. The appropriate and compatible module count is a system-level decision.

PLANNING IN GERMANY

A power rating isn’t grid permission.

The brochure lists 2,400 W solar input and a 2,000 W bidirectional rating. These product figures do not define permitted grid export. Have the actual configuration and connection checked against local requirements.

06 / BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Your questions. Practical answers.

When is storage worth investigating?

When you regularly have surplus solar by day and demand later, storage is worth evaluating. If surplus is low or not measured, establish that first rather than choosing a battery on capacity alone.

Can 8657 work with an existing solar setup?

The quick-start guide shows arrangements with and without a microinverter. That is not universal compatibility. Collect your panel, inverter and meter details so the actual connection route can be checked.

How much energy does an expansion battery hold?

The brochure lists 1,792 Wh for 8657-1 and 2,009.6 Wh for 8657-2. Each figure describes a single expansion battery—not a complete kit or usable energy.

What is included, and what does it cost?

A binding kit and retail price are not published here. A useful quotation should identify the master, battery count, cables, accessories and installation, alongside warranty and delivery terms.

Will it power my home during an outage?

The documents show a separate backup connection. Supported loads, output and changeover need confirmation for the supplied model. Automatic whole-home backup is not promised.

What will the setup assessment give me?

An initial read on your surplus and usage, a checklist of information still needed, and a downloadable project brief. It is a planning aid—not electrical approval or a battery-sizing calculation.

07 / 8657 SETUP ASSESSMENT

Does storage fit your everyday?
